Beatrice, known to the world as The Songbird, was the talk of the town. A rising star who had just made her dazzling debut as the headline act at the Empire Club—a notorious venue where the city’s elite mingled with the underworld of London. Her voice captivated all who heard it, but just hours after her performance, Beatrice was found brutally stabbed in a hotel room that wasn’t her own.
The circumstances surrounding her death are as mysterious as they are chilling. Beatrice was seen fleeing out the club’s back door after discovering a cryptic note on her dressing table. Who could have wanted to silence her forever?
Every suspect had a motive. Was it Clara Bell, the overlooked singer burning with jealousy after Beatrice took her place as the headliner? Or Vincent, the club owner with a suspicious past—did Beatrice have some dark secret on him? Could it have been George, the husband she abandoned for the bright lights of London? Or Alex, the lover discarded when a mysterious new man caught her eye? And what about Bessie, the sister who watched silently as Beatrice’s star rose, leaving her in the shadows?

This game was really fun! I played with my family and we had an excellent evening with a huge ‘Eureka!’ moment when we figured it out. The evidence was beautifully packaged and everything was very good quality. Also, the included cocktail recipes were a lovely bonus, and delicious. Really recommend for a fun group activity
I’ve done many such mysteries and found this one quite enjoyable–challenging but not insurmountable, and it was obvious the creator put a lot into it with attention to detail and historical aspects.

How Does the Game Work?
The game is presented over 3 envelopes of evidence, this is to simulate a real investigation. For the best experience, try to complete any puzzles and analyse all the evidence for that envelope before moving on to the next. Once you have all the information and are confident that you have the correct suspect, log into the solution section of the Crimes Through Time website and fill in the form. If you are correct, the full sequence of events is revealed; if not, there are some helpful hints for you to go back and re-evaluate the evidence.

The game is written to be played solo or as a team up to 6 players.

Gameplay is between 2-4 hours.
What Is the Difficulty Level of This Game?
The difficulty level for The Case of the Silenced Songbird is 2 out of 5. There is one tricky puzzle. In this game, the puzzles are extra clues the solution can be found without solving them although they are fun.
What is the Age Recommendation for Playing the Game?
14 years + there is nothing included in the game that is shocking or gory, however, to participate and solve the mystery it is more appropriate for older children
Do I Need the Internet to Play?
For the physical game format, all evidence is included in the box, internet access is only required to enter the solution or to read the hints and tips page. The digital case file format is hosted on the Crimes Through Time website. The PDFs can be downloaded and printed for the physical box format experience.
